Welcome to Meld! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Meld mobile application ("App") and website ("Website"), operated by Orion Tech Solutions LLC ("we," "us," or "our").
By accessing or using Meld, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use Meld.
1. Eligibility
To use Meld, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be legally able to enter into a binding contract
- Not be prohibited from using Meld under applicable laws
- Not have been previously banned from Meld
- Not be a registered sex offender
By using Meld, you represent and warrant that you meet all eligibility requirements.
2. Your Account
Account Creation
You must create an account to use Meld. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update this information to keep it accurate.
Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
One Account Per Person
You may only have one Meld account. Creating multiple accounts may result in termination of all accounts.
3. How Meld Works
Roles
Meld operates on a trust-based model with two roles:
- Seekers: Users who are open to receiving introduction suggestions
- Wings: Trusted friends who suggest introductions for Seekers
Users may choose to be a Seeker, a Wing, or both.
Suggestions and Connections
Wings can suggest introductions for their connected Seekers. When both parties in a suggestion express mutual interest, a connection is created, enabling direct communication between them.
No Guarantee of Connections
Meld does not guarantee that you will receive suggestions, connections, or find a romantic partner or friend. The quality and quantity of your experience depends on many factors outside our control.
4. Community Guidelines
When using Meld, you agree NOT to:
- Provide false or misleading information in your profile
- Use photos that are not of yourself or that misrepresent your appearance
- Harass, bully, stalk, intimidate, or threaten any user
- Send spam, solicitations, or promotional content
- Use Meld for any illegal purpose
- Share explicit, offensive, or inappropriate content
- Impersonate any person or entity
- Collect or harvest other users' information
- Interfere with or disrupt the service or servers
- Use Meld to promote violence, discrimination, or hatred
- Create accounts for anyone other than yourself
- Use Meld if you are under 18 years old
5. Content You Provide
Your Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to Meld (photos, bio, messages). By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute your content in connection with operating Meld.
Content Standards
Your content must not:
- Infringe any third party's intellectual property rights
- Contain nudity or sexually explicit material
- Promote violence or illegal activities
- Include minors (anyone under 18)
- Contain hate speech or discriminatory content
Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we find objectionable, without prior notice.
6. Safety
Your Safety is Your Responsibility
While Meld's trust-based model aims to create a safer environment for meeting people, we cannot guarantee the behavior of other users. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users.
Safety Tips
- Never share financial information or send money to other users
- Meet in public places for first meetups
- Tell a friend or family member about your plans
- Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, end the interaction
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behavior to us
Background Checks
Meld does not conduct criminal background checks on users. We encourage you to research potential connections and exercise caution.
7. Intellectual Property
Meld and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Orion Tech Solutions LLC and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our services without our written permission.
8. Termination
By You
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. Upon deletion, your profile and personal information will be removed within 30 days.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
9. Disclaimers
MELD IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.
WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR USEFULNESS OF ANY INFORMATION ON MELD, INCLUDING USER PROFILES.
WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CONDUCT OF ANY USER, WHETHER ONLINE OR OFFLINE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ORION TECH SOLUTIONS LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF MELD.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Orion Tech Solutions LLC from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of Meld, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.
12. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Meld will be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration.
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice in the app or sending you an email. Your continued use of Meld after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict of law principles.
